ROUND 9 v BALLAN + LIGHTNING PREMERSHIP

It was a very chilly start to the day on Saturday as we took on Ballan at home. Coming away with a clean sweep in the football and the first win for the 17s netball team, well done Bek & girls…

FOOTBALL

Under 12

In cold conditions the under 12s played a good game, with scores even at half time, when Skipton got on top, with good play from Andy Wills and Davey Alexander they came away with a good.

Awards to Hamish Pratt, Oscar Sim and Noah Kennedy.

Under15

Had a great win, on top all day. A few injuries with Jack Sheehan, Marty Boyer and Ben Nash out of the team they pulled together and played well as a unit, with over a 100 point win and keeping Ballan scoreless. Blake Scott and Jack Liston profluent goal scorers for the day. Award winners Jack Liston and Lachy Maxted.

Under 18

A close game all day and the boys played good footy. The lead changed a few times in the last half, until we kicked away in the last qtr, Chris and the boys did a great job to come away with the win. Awards winners Jack Liston, Brad Uwland and Alex Middleton.

Reserves

The Reserves came away with a good win to help celebrate Tim Gawnes 100th game. A hard fought game in great footy conditions, Al Mclean played well all day with support from Jack Robson. Coming away with a tight win. Award winners Alex McLean and Tim Gawne.

Seniors

Great win for the seniors, which topped off a great day for the club with 5/5 wins on the footy field. The senior boys had to fight hard in trying wet conditions with the lead changing throughout the day. They fought back well in the last qtr to come away with a 6 point win which was reward for effort.

Best players Andrew Pitson, Jsoh Draffin, Kal Dubbledan and Xaiver Lowrey.

NETBALL

Lucky for us the weather didn't deter our under 13b girls from making it a great start to the day as they had their best win of the season yet 24 goals to 0 and remain undeafeated.

It was an amazing game from all girls but the awards went to Lillian barr and Hannah meek.

At the time this report is probably being printed the girls are having a day over at Hepburn at the under 12 lightening premiership. We will have played 4 short games in the hope of making finals. You will have to come back next week to see how we went! Good luck girls, have fun.

The under 13as had an extremely low scoring game and unfortunately could not come away with the win going down 5 goals to 9. Awards went to silver victorsen and destiny frisby.

Paige Kennedy and Sophie liston received the awards in a good under 15 game but the scoreline did not go our way 9 to 19. There has been some amazing improvements from all girls this year tho and they are much more competitive now.

And we have a very happy under 17 coach with Bec Scotts girls having their first win of the season.

In Bec's words: the Girls played so well today , shooters had a top day, moving around the ring. Megan coming out to give Viv the opportunity to go straight in and both shooting very well. Defences had great control over the opposition with some beautiful deference by the girls. Abby played a strong centre. I am one proud coach as the girls listened to everything l said today!

Great work girls! Awards went to Annie Elliott and Abby Tiley.

C grade continue to gel as a team and have great passages of play against some tough competition. Unfortunately this game they couldn't quite match Ballan for the full four quarters and a small 3 goal half time margin ended up as a 15 goal loss. Awards went to Bec Walker, Elise Crick and Jessica Whiteside.

B grade continue to match it with the top teams but can't quite run over the top of them. We had a great 1st quarter leading by 3 at the change but unfortunately the 2nd and 3rd quarters cost us going down by just 6 in the end. 25 to 31. Hannah Smyth, Jaymee Crack and Georgie Fay were standouts to take home the awards.

Laura Fay, Caitlyn bell and Liz Barr received the awards for A grade in what looked like a much more even game than the final score line of 18 to 53 sounds. With girls back in to some more comfortable positions the girls fought gallantly to the very end.

Lightning Premiership

Congratulations to James Draffin as coach and Jason Richardson as team manager - the under 12's played great football in very wet, cold and muddy conditions.

Winning 2 out of 3 games and narrowly missing the grand final! Great job team Emu!
