THE UNDEFEATED ROAD TO FINALS!!!

What a season the Under 15s have had...they have gone through the home and away season undefeated, which is no mean feat in itself. Marty & Blake Captains and BOGs for the Under 13 and Under 15 CHFL Interleague teams respectively. Top all of that off with Blake winning the League Beat & Fairest and we have the makings of a great team of footballers for many years to come...GO EMUS!

ROUND 1 v CLUNES

A great win, lending players to the opposition which led to the unlucky Xavier Connell who was filling in for Clunes receiving a knock on the ribs as well as concussion. He went to hospital to be checked over and spent the night. Fortunately Xavier is OK and well on the road to a full recovery. A very good win with entertaining football being played. Skipton 25.17-167 def Clunes 0.0-0

ROUND 2 v SMYTHESDALE

A great effort to win in the wet conditions. The rain continued through this game, but the team battled on very well. Campbell Corbett received the Pinky’s voucher. Skipton 8.3-51 def Symthesdale 4.1-25

ROUND 3 V LEARMONTH

In a one sided game in favour of Skipton the under 15s recorded a strong win. Blake Scott and Jack Sheenan impressing in the middle. Marty Boyer and Jessie Kennedy enjoying the space in the forward line. Awards to Luke Peeters. Skipton 25.17-167 def Learmonth 1.0-6

ROUND 4 V NEWLYN

The side continues to work on their teamwork and bringing all players into the game. Coach Kelvin Scott is very keen to develop the younger players as well as the more senior guys and thinks there is good progress in this area. He is aware that you need a whole team playing well when they are challenged by better sides in the games to come and is trying to prepare the side accordingly. A highlight was to see one of the younger players in Marty Boyer kick the first 7 goals of the game. He kicked 11 for the game. Awards, Pinky’s Jesse Kennedy and Skipcoin Jack Shady. Skipton 18.9-117 def Newlyn 0.1-1

ROUND 5 V DAYLESFORD

Continuing to improve each week, while they seem to be untroubled by the opposition score lines this year, the improvement and work they do on playing as a team is great to see. Kelvin with the assistance of Alistair Wills have the boys playing better as a team every game. Awards were Pinky’s to Charlie Savage, and Skipcoin to Nathan Dean.

Skipton 11.8-74 def Daylesford 2.0-12

ROUND 6 V BUNGAREE

Up against another undefeated side in what promised to be a test for their team and team play. In a good opening quarter Skipton kicked 4 goals to 1, which in the tough conditions proved to be too much for Bungaree to challenge. Awards went to Jonah Moloney Wise for Pinky’s and Skipcoin to Xavier Connell and Hamish Hall.

Skipton 7.6-48 def Bungaree 2.4-16

ROUND 8 V BUNINYONG

The side got out of the blocks well, making the most of the breeze scoring 4.3-27 to 0.0-0 in the first quarter. They managed to contain Buninyong when they had the breeze in the second, and the game continued in that fashion with Skipton managing to score a goal against the wind in the last, taking the margin out to 33 points. ROUND 11 V BEAUFORT

Beaufort had the best of us in the first quarter, leading by 7 points at the first break. Thereafter however Skipton turned it on, restricting Beaufort to only one more scoring shot while adding 7 goals of their own. Again it was a good team effort by our boys to shut the opposition down. Pinky’s voucher went to Jack Sheehan, Skipcoin Harry Wills, and the Bakery award to Hamish Hall.

Skipton 21.8-134 def Waubra 0.0-0

ROUND 16 V CRESWICK

Creeping closer to an undefeated season with only Carngham Linton standing in their way for the home and away rounds. The coaching panel led by Kelvin Scott are doing a great job of keeping the boys focused on the task at hand and making sure that the essential team work is instilled into our lads, as they know that teams win finals, not half a dozen individuals. Cameron Gardiner wins the Pinky’s award, Aiden Walsh the Skipcoin voucher and Blake Scott the Bakers Delight award. Skipton 8.4-52 defeated Creswick 2.2-14
